I brewed a pot of the Indonesian Flores and filled my thermos, and then set off to work without it. Worse, I didn't notice my error until I had already reached work, an hour and a half away. I was reduced to drinking *$$ and (gulp) Flavia all day.
At least I had the foresight to fill the thermos with hot water and let it warm up before I filled it with coffee. When I got home (late, at 7:20 pm) the coffee had been sitting in the thermos all day but was still hot. Not boiling hot, mind you, but hot. Definitely hotter than "warm"! And considering the age and quality of my automatic drip coffee maker, that is not much cooler than when I poured it.
I credit this to the fact that the thermos had been heated before I filled it with coffee, and also to the fact that it was full of hot coffee all day. It had never been opened and, more significantly, no hot coffee was ever poured out. When you pour coffee, the coffee that is removed from the thermos is resplaced by cooler air. This gives your remaining coffee a chance to cool.
It turns out that the temperature of the coffee was not a bad temperature for tasting this coffee, which is very much like other Indonesians, at least to my unsophisticated palate. At this roast it has a funky, earthy taste with a bright layer of acidity on top. It was very pleasant, although perhaps I should not have had so much of it so late in the evening. I may be blogging all night!

Here's some good news: my long anticipated Chemex has finally arrived! It looks smaller than I expected, but when I fill the carafe from my old automatic drip machine with water I can pour the carafe into the Chemex with (a little) room to spare.
Tomorrow: I will brew my first pot with the Chemex!
